I was wondering what clear stamps are. I saw them at target, but they don't have any ink or directions and they come in pretty designs. So what are they and how do you use them?

  1. Clear stamps are similar to rubber stamps - only they are made of polymer - clear, see through materials so you can see where you are stamping and can make more accurate placement.

Scrapbookers use these for their scrapbook pages and card makers for cards, tags, bookmarks and other materials. To use the clear stamps, you need to stick it to a acrylic block, apply ink and stamp.

Clear stamps are also flexible so can be adjusted. If your design call for a wavy line, for example, you can adjust the long design clear stamps to slightly curve to make the wavy line. They are great for curved surface like a coffee mug, a pin or boxes.

They are easier to store - just stick onto clear binder sheets or in clear cd cases. Do not take up much space.

I buy and use both rubber stamps and clear stamps but beginning to enjoy the clear stamps better.

    Here's my card website:

Cards are done with both rubber and clear stamps.

  2. The clear blocks and the ink pads are at Target too.
