We're making a scrapbook for a friend for her 60th birthday. Does anyone have any suggestions? We really don't know where to start!

  1. Try using a specific theme such as chocolate, golf, flowers or whatever her hobbies may be.

Use an 8x8 book instead of the 12x12. (less stress to fill pages)

Do a book by decades. Contact her family/friends for pictures that you can scan/copy and then return. Create a timeline.

Do her book using a "door" theme: behind door #1 show her as a young child. Door 2 could be her school years. ETC...

  2. First off, I think this a such a sweet idea. It truely is! I absolutly love sentimental gifts like this ...and I am sure she would love that to. again that is very sweet of you.

    for ideas...

well...do you have any pics of her that are special and some more pics of her loved ones?

if so, make copies and use those in the book

find out what her favorite color is or colors and use a lot of those colors

does she like a lot of detail or does she like clean lines and more simple style...

michaels has wonderful scrapbooking materials and they are priced fairly reasonable and l;ook in your local yellow pages for scrapbooking stores. they might be a lil higher priced but you might find even more unique items that add the special touch .

enjoy~ and again this is a wonderful and creative idea for your friend and I know she will appreciate something sentimental such as this.

  3. If you're not going to have a lot of older photos (so it'd be harder to show her throughout her life), you could do an ABC album.  Each letter starts a word that describes her.  You can have photos of her, or photos or memorabilia that fit with the word.  A is for adventurous (photo of her hiking), B is for bookworm (die cuts of books or photo of her favorite library), etc.

  4. gather a lot of pictures from over the years, then go to your local scrapbooking store and find paper, decoration, stickers, and all types of fun stuff, try starting bye cutting a picture into a fun shape! that might give you and inspiration. Or, plan you color scheme, and scrapbook from there!
