This summer, I wanted to make a scrapbook of graduation and my past year @ school. Any ideas of how/where I should start? (ie: where to get an inexpensive album, and stickers..?)

  1. Even Wal-Mart carries a fairly good scrapbooking section for beginners now.  They have albums, paper, stickers...but a craft store like Jeffrey Alans or Hobby Lobby will have a much larger selection.  Also, there are stores devoted wholly to scrapbook supplies but they're usually privately run so I don't know that you'd have one nearby.  I live in a -very- small town yet there is a scrapbooking store probably 10 blocks from my house. :)

Start at the beginning and work up to graduation.  I always work with a calendar on hand so that I can make sure I'm putting the events in the actual order they occurred and not just trying to work from memory.  I also make sure to label and write on each page so that I can remember the significance of the event/photo.

    Hope this helps!

  2. You are going to put alot of work and effort and great photos into your ablum, don't get a cheap one. Hobby Lobby has all ablums at 50% off this week. Watch for sales there. All their scrapbook stuff goes on sale at some point. It is one of the better priced stores.

Also try getting books or magazines from your library. It is a good place to get information and ideas for free. My small library has 4 different scrapbook magazines.

Joann fabrics has a scrapbook section. Don't know where you are at, but in the Ohio area Cord camera is good.Archiver's. is a great scrapbook store.

  3. You can create a beautiful, quality book online with Heritage Makers. It is far better than traditional scrap booking; it takes less time, costs less money, and the books last much longer.

If you would like to design a book about your last year of school and your graduation, my suggestion would be chronological order. Log into www.ScraplessBooks.com and create an account. I suggest the Premier account which has unlimited photo storage, unlimited project availability, a drap and drop publishing system, thousands and thousands of pieces of artwork (backgrounds, embellishments, and so on), quotes, and templates, and more for only $19.95 for each month you choose you use it. Under the Projects tab, select Storybooks, then select the size book you would like--the 8 x 8 is the most popular. Design your book from cover to cover with whatever you want. Tell the story of your last year of school and graduation, don't just put a bunch of pictures in a book--you want to remember how you felt, what you were thinking, names of friends/teachers--everything. Photos without stories are memories lost. Don't forget that; in 30 years when you are looking at these photos, will you remember each person or place? What you were feeling at the moment? Probably not--so be sure to preserve all that while it's still fresh in your mind!

These books are not the cheap, impersonal photobooks you see popping up everywhere. These are high-quality, library-bound, hard-back, acid, lignon, and chlorine free books that will last in your family for generations to come. Why stop at your graduation? There are millions of reasons to create books, and once you get started you won't want to stop!

Storybooks are not the only thing available--folded cards, postcards, invitations, decks of cards, posters, canvas posters, single pages, and calendars are cusomizable too.

There are always specials going on for all products, so let me know if you would like to view them.

If you would like to see the content of the Studio prior to paying the monthly charge, let me know, we can set up a time for a demo (which is free) and you will have a chance to see the entire site--products, artwork, everything. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I used to scrapbook the traditional way, but never again.

  4. Get on Google, and type in

    scrapbooking.

There are MANY sites devoted to the subject.

As for layout make it start at the beginning of the year, and go through, or divide it into subjects- classes, activities, friends, etc. IOW, tell a story.

  5. Well start at the beginning of the year then  go through it untill you come to the graduation. For cheap scrapbooking supplies if yoau have a nearby micheals craft store or any craft store by your home they should carry that stuff. I hope that helps!
