  1. There's lots of options.  You can do this as a book about you and her and make it a sisters album, you can make it about her and her family and make it a family album, or you can make it about her and her life and include her family and friends.

I would do as the previous poster mentioned and make the first page a dedication page, a picture of her and the journaling which is just writing about why you did this book for her, what she means to you, etc.

You of course, do want lots of journaling in the album which is the writing/story telling.  You can tell the stories behind some of the pictures, you can tell what moments meant what to you if there's pictures of you and her together you can write about the picture and what it meant to go through that moment with her or what you were feeling etc.

You can also put some pages there and leave blanks for her to put the pictures in.  You would leave the blanks a little larger, so if the pictures are 4x6, you can make the blanks a half inch to an inch bigger so that there's a border around them when she puts the pictures in.  You can just pick a background color and make that the frames and all she has to do is adhere down the pictures.

Some ideas of pages you can do are:

    Times you've had together

    Vacations

    Sister fun

    Family fun

    Summer Fun

    School Fun

Inside Jokes (not every page has to have pictures, you can write out the inside jokes the two of have together and then decorate the page with some stickers that go along with the jokes).

Favorite Songs (do the same thing as with the jokes)

    Favorite things to do together

    Most memorable times

    Holidays

Top 10 Reasons I'm Glad You're My Sister

You can make lists on some pages and then have pictures to go with them or stickers etc.  Not everything has to be paragraphs or lines of stories, lists are fun too!

Think about why you're making the book and what you'd like to include and it will all fall into place.  The more you think about it, the more you'll come up with!  Then you'll be wanting more room to put more! LOL  You will get on a roll, this is what they call scrapper's block, when you're at that point where you don't know what to do and you're creativity is just not there, but it WILL come and once it does, run with it and you'll be on a roll!

You don't even have to split the pages up do them in any order you want them to be.  If you are including childhood pictures though, I would do them first and work your way to the present day.  If you're doing the pictures all about the last few years, and it's just about the times you've had together, just do it about the themes and not the order of the pictures.  There is NO right or wrong way to scrapbook it's what feels right to YOU!

I'm sure no matter what you do, your sister is going to love it!  A scrapbook is a gift from the heart and it's an awesome gift, she is going to be touched and love that you took the time to do this for her!

  2. If the scrap book has X amount of pages then you need to decide what are the most important things that go into it.  Once you have those chosen then you arrange them in chronological order.  I would use the single first page as a dedication or title page and the last one as all the family together.  In between its up to you.  I would use her favorite colors and embellishments of things she likes.  And more important than the photos, do  A LOT of journaling.  This is your sister and this is part of your family record, a great place to preserve memories important to both of you.  Have fun with your project!!
