  1. I love to capture whatever my son is really showing an interest in. example: Rocks: the rock colletion, building with rocks etc. I would take pictures of all the moments I see that he's adding rocks to his rock collection jar, building sculptures with them etc. I would also record on a recorder him talking about the fun he is having. And I would document how he created the buildings, houses etc. with the rocks. All same examples for letters, a trip to the farm, a grocery store visit. etc. We like to think outside the box. {Not only just seasonal} We like to make our on scrapbooks with fabric, fancy paper/clothes pins, and out of peek-a-boo folders. etc. Great fine motor activity. It's a blast!

  2. I only do themed ablums. Like our trip to Disney or my daughgters Sweet 16 birthday party.

Check out your library. There should be some scrapbooking magazines and lots of books full with ideas.

  3. Try www.splitcoaststampers.com

This is a great community with forums and galleries to help you get ideas.

Subjects can include anything from a day at the beach to sporting events.

  4. Well, its hard to answer without knowing what kind of page you are working on.

I usually categorize my scrapbook in chronological order. So I will have a page about "San Francisco" (like a vacation) or "fourth of july". etc. But you could slip little pages in there like "mother" of "family"

I usually get my ideas by looking at what pictures I have first and then deciding how I can group them. Once I know what pictures I want together on a page, I usually just roam around the scrapbooking store until I see something cute. I almost always end up coming home with more stuff than I will use, so then I store it in a box and pawn through it the next time I'm doing a page to see what works.

Also, you should save all your colored paper scraps. These come in handy if you need small pieces to use as a border for a photo or for cutouts or punchouts. I keep mine categorized in a 3-ring binder by sticking them inside clear pocket protectors according to color. All the greens are in 1 pocket protector, reds in another, pinks and corals in another and so on, and then the pocket protectors just clip into the binder.

Something I recommend is typing up a little description of the page on the computer and mounting it on some paper to put in the page. I find the best background papers for pages are the ones with designs, rather than just solid colors. Most scrapbook stores will categorize their background papers with similar cutouts, stickers, etc to make it easier to mix and match.
