Question:

Scrapbooking ... what kind of personal cutter should I purchase?

My husband wants to buy me a personal cutter for my birthday, but I'm not sure which one I want. He wanted to get me a Cricut, but then changed his mind to a Xyron that hooks straight up to your computer so you don't need to buy cartridges, you can just use the fonts on your computer.

I'd like to know if you can recommend a personal cutter. Why would you recommend it, and pros and cons.

Thanks!

  1. The Cricut Expression is a good choice. There is also a cheaper version of it, but that one is limited in the paper size it will cut. The Cricut Expression will cut up to 12 x 12, which is great if you want to do large cutouts to run across a 12 x 12 size scrapbook page. However, it is expensive and you do have to buy cartridges, but it's definitely a time saver in cutting pieces together. It'll give you more time to focus on the creative stuff, like how to design the  page.
