Me and my sister one day decided to have £10 of £1 scratch cards(£5 each) none of them were winners, not even a £1. My question is why do they have one in 4.88 chance on the back of them if you buy £10 of them and dont win. Its wrong.

Another question is are you better buying scratch cards or lottery lucky dips? Or doing same numbers every week?

  1. I guess you just got an unlucky 10.

With scratch cards, the jackpots could have already been won...

With the lottery, each line has an equal chance of winning, regardless of previous draws.

  2. You're better off doing the same numbers each week.

  3. You would have been better off buying two bottles of wine.........spent a nice evening chatting and gettng slowly sozzled.  :)

  4. You cannot know. Any game is right or wrong, any opinion depends on your (un)happy results.

Your data: 1 in 4.88 ?????? That would be more than 20% chance of winning (at least £1?) ?  Don't you ever believe that again!  It is rather 1 in 488, that is 0,2%... hey, learn some statistics.
