when i play a video game on my 4:3 Tv it fills the entire screen, then when i play that same game on a 16:9 tv it fills the entire screen even though its a widescreen tv. how does this same game fill the entire screen on both is it a fullscreen or widescreen game? does the game stretch the game to 16:9? Also i hear fullscreen movies are CROPPED widescreen is a fullscreen movie on a widescreen tv (Filling the entire tv) a stretched, cropped movie, i'm just having a hard time understanding aspect ratios, any information would help.

  1. With an HD tv you have the option to tell the tv in the menu what view you want when you turn to a "regular" channel.  Now, if you don't want this, you can use the remote control and the picture button to scroll through the various sizes you mention.  Every time you change the channel, it will return to that default you picked in the menu.

With HD channels, your default should be 16:9, though some tv's might give you a zoom, or 3:4 if the tv isn't a 22", 30", 34", etc screen.

  2. It depends on the game, but most likely, you wide screen TV is stretching the picture, and the 4:3 TV is showing the full picture already.
