Screen doesn't come on, but sound does!

Question

I have an 8-year-old Sony Trinitron 32" TV.
Today, when I turn it on, the sound comes on, but
the screen does not at all.
The little red blinking light on the front of the console blinks a few times,
but that is all.
The sound continues, just like normal, but still no screen at all, nor do
any menu options come up from the remote.

Is this a repair job or something else?
