I live in Texas and it gets really HOT! Would it be a good investment to buy black screens to cover my windows?

Do you have an idea of approximately how much they cost?

  1. How about Black out Linings, to your Curtains?, my Daughter has done this, it works Great for keeping the Heat out.

Plus you can change Day to Night, by Drawing the Curtains.

    Great for Afternoon Naps.Lol.

  2. Yes dark colors attract and hold more heat (think of a super market tar parking lot seems like the heat is radiating) so if it's already hot outside and you have A/C on the curtains will reheat your house.  What has worked for me here in So Cali is putting foil up on windows on the side of the house that's gets most of the direct sun light to reflect the heat back out.  Curtains wish they made heat reflecting curtains but they don't.
