Question:

Script analysis class?

I'm going to be taking a script analysis class in two weeks at a community theater that I've been doing plays at for a long time, the only problem is that I'm scared that I'm going to go there and make a complete idiot out of myself in front of everyone I know. I need some advice on how to show up completely prepared.

  1. You take a class to learn things, not to show off what you already know.  Obviously you like theatre, so just go with an open mind, listen, do the work (the only prep you can do is read and familiarize yourself completely with the recommended plays list, if they've provided you one), and don't be afraid to ask or answer questions.  Script analysis is about the approach to a script, offering methodology AND the freedom to interpret.

    Just have fun!!!
