hey im just wondering if u could scry with a fake crystal?

do you mean like a glass crystal? its true what some people said- you can scry with almost anything- i often scry accidentally when I'm cooking risotto, or porridge or couscous (anything that i stir alot :P) glass actually works quite well like mirrors. if you mean dowsing (swinging a crystal etc on a string) then a fake one would be ok if it feels right to you- often keys or rings are used for pendulums- as long as there's a weight at the end and it feel right to you it should work :)

You can scry with a dark bowl filled with water.  My g/f scrys in her opal ring. The medium used is only the tool.

Yes, theoretically you can scry in pretty much anything that's shiney or transparent. I even tried scrying in an earring once, and it worked about as well as the other methods (admittedly, not very.)

Also, some people apparently use smoke as the medium for scrying.

yes and you could aslo try a ring or key if you dont have those materials. its similar to dowsing

Yes, you can use anything that feels right to you. Candle flames work well for me.

Yes.  Scrying can be done with any manner of objects.  The ability doesn't come from the crystal.
