  1. Fox,

It usually takes more than A weekend to get certified.

I hope you mean over a few weekends.

The best thing to do is go to a dive shop and asked to be put in touch with a PADI or NAUI diving instructor. Usually a good shop has one or two on staff. Get to talk to the instructors, see if you feel confident with them.

  2. Scuba Crucifixion for a reasonable price on the week ends???

Brother the Romans used to do it for free! You've been "took" hon!!!

In San Diego, of all places...jeez!

(Shhhh!) BUT is it me or the canbedry wodka ****'stale???!

  3. ******The first answer was missing one other Diving Cerification Organization.  SSI = Scuba Schools International.

That, and I would go with PADI over NAUI as the certification is more commonly accepted worldwide.  One can also access replacment cards on line with PADI.

Check the web for a local Dive Master near you.  It does not take long to get certified, but you should study the book on your own, and know it VERY well.  Basic skills could save your life in an emergency.

    DIVE ON my BROTHER!
