I really love my Mares reg, but the mouthpiece isn't the most comfortable so I'm looking into getting a different one for it. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

P.S. I'm so sad... wetsuit season is about to end here in the midwest, and since I'm not into drysuit diving yet, unless I get to go someplace warm over the winter, diving is just about done for me until the spring... boooooo!!!!!

  1. I have a Titan LX reg that I love.  It came with a comfort fit mouth piece.  It is black but the rubber is very smooth and slick.  I don't hardly realize it is in my mouth.  I live in Missouri and we dive year round with our wet suits.  Just get you a heavy one, they are a lot cheaper than the dry suits. (even though I would love to get a dry suit).  We go  on a New Years day dive at Oronogo if you are interested.

  2. I use  Sea Cure. They're kinda pricey, but really cut down on jaw fatigue. They're a custom fit, but you do the actual customizing. You place the mouthpiece in boiling water for a minute, remove it, let it cool a bit, put it in your mouth and chomp down. Hold that pose for about 10 seconds and you're done. A mouthpiece that is molded to your teeth and jaw line. Very comfy and next to no effort to keep in even if your buddy is kicking you in the face.

I think there are a few others out on the market now, going by different brand names .I dunno, I've had mine for 10 years. Yup, they last that long.

Edit: What do ya know, they're still in business, heres a link  http://www.seacure1.com/customiz.htm

Edit: Lachic, if your wet suit is a 7mm, there's no reason to stop. I ice dive occassionally here in one, although I do lug my drysuit around. It just depends on the dive. It's the hands that go numb after 30 minutes, even with good gloves. :)
