  1. I can't find a "Lake Norfolk" on a map of Arkansas, but I did

find a "Norfork Lake" in Baxter County in north Arkansas.

If you go down very deep in any lake the water will be very

cold any time, even in midsummer, since the sunlight warms

the surface water which expands, becomes less dense, and

stays at the surface.  You may have noticed that as you dive

deeper in a lake, you find colder and colder layers of water

called thermoclines, and the water near the bottom may be

as cold as 4°C (39°F) even in midsummer.

This is a normal phenomenon of lake diving, so wear a warm

protective suit any time you go deep in a lake!

  2. In June the surface temperature will probably be in the upper 60's low 70's.  The thermocline will be fairly shallow - about 15 feet and below that it will be cold.  You will need to use a full wet suit. And by the way it is Lake Norfork.
