Scuba refresh?

going on holiday next week but haven't dived since august last year do i have to do a scuba review?

  1. It depends on how long you have been a scuba diver. If last year was your first then by all means have a quick `brush up`. However if you are a veteran scuba diver a refresher course is not necessary.


  2. A dive refresher is recommended if you are out of the water for more than 3 months. I get one every time I return from a deployment. If you are friendly with a Divemaster then they can take you out and do a quick once over with you. If not then your local dive shop should be able to recommend someone who can help you out. The refresher only takes a couple of hours just to make sure you remember how to do all the skills necessary for the open water.

  3. Personally I would, maybe go with the local DM for an orientation dive too, better to be safe.

  4. I would go on the safe side and talk to a local Dive Master, get him to ask you some questions and refresh your mind.
