Se Ri Pak able to repeat past performance at Kingsmill Championship

South Korean Se Ri Pak, who finished 8th in the Evian Masters 2012, has been confirmed to join the roster of the Kingsmill Championship 2012, slated to take place from September 6-9, at Williamsburg, Virginia.
Pak’s inclusion in the field of the Kingsmill Championship 2012 is being viewed as a good development, as American Cristie Kerr, who won the last edition of the tournament, has already confirmed her commitment
to take part in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) event.
The Kingsmill Championship is the new name of the Michelob Ultra Open, which was staged from 2004 to 2009 at the Kingsmill Resort, River Course — the same venue where the upcoming edition of the tournament
is going to be played.
Pak, who is one of the most talented players on the LPGA Tour, has not been able to record a professional victory since she won the Bell Micro LPGA Classic in May 2010.
Despite being winless for several months, the South Korean star has shown in some of the recent tournaments that she is still eager to remain in contention — and losing is something she despises the most.
Analysts said that the match at Williamsburg is likely to turn into a tough battle, as there will not only be past winners seeking to repeat their past performances, but most of the star performers will also
be gracing the event.
Some of the key players who have confirmed their intentions to show up at the Kingsmill in September include Brittany Lang, Brook Pancake, Lexi Thompson and Paula Creamer of the United States.
Analysts also pointed out that since the tournament is going to be staged in the United States, American players will likely enjoy much of the support from spectators. They said Kerr is able to grab most of
the limelight as she is the defending champion of the tournament.
However, Pak cannot be written off as an underdog, as she boasts a pretty solid profile. The 34-year-old golfer has won 25 LPGA titles so far, whereas she has also proved her mettle on the LPGA of Korea Tour,
having grabbed seven victories.
Whereas the Evian Masters 2012, which was held last Sunday in France, also saw the experience LPGA star finish inside the top 10.
