Question:

Sea Cadets Boot Camp

I'm interested in joining the U.S Navy Sea Cadets, but my parents are worried about the boot camp. They're afraid I might get raped. Other than that they think it's a great program, but I HAVE to do the boot camp to do the program, so is the Boot Camp safe for a 13 year old girl?

  1. ok ok ok. I'm an army cadet. i WAS a sea cadet.  it's not boot camp that you go to. it's a training centre. highly patrolled training centre.

yes it's perfectly safe, tell your parents you will by no means get raped unless you put yourself out there.

even so, the areas are blocked off from the boys anyways, there is a girls sleeping side, and boys sleeping side, separate barracks.

there are always staff members and senior cadets on that border line during the night, no one will cross into your barracks.

promise. you have my word, nothing will happen to you, I'm a Calgary Highlander, have beed for 7 years now. I'm a staff cadet at the whitehorse training centre in the Yukon, no one has ever been sexually abused or assulted.

  2. It is fine for a 13 year old girl, and will better your chances of getting into the Navy. I saw the Sea Cadets a few years back and let me tell ya, it is like REAL basic training you get yelled at all the time you are told where to look when you eat, and no talking unless spoken to kinda thing. I think you should go for it you will come home a changed person and it will be for the better. :) If you keep it up all 4 years I think you get extra rank when joining the Navy, I know JROTC has you gain 2 extra stripes. Good luck!!

Are you going to the one in Jacksonville Fl?
