Sea Fever favourite for Steps Here On 21st July Handicap
Sea Fever has got a solid chance of winning the Steps Here On 21st July Handicap at Haydock in England on Thursday, June 14, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will walk away with a cash prize of £2,264.
The going will be good in the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 95 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 21:20 GMT, and a total of 13 runners will be seen in action in it. Their names are as follows: Sea Fever, Neige D´antan, Brockwell, Clon Brulee, Ma Kellys,
Moataz, Bridal Medic, Maybeagrey, Now My Sun, Altona, Master Chipper, Sweet Grace and Abdul Malik.
Earlier, 15 entries had been confirmed for the race, but Tweet Lady and Miss Ella Jade will not be seen in action now. The former of the two was carrying a decent momentum and could have made a solid impression in the race.
Stamina will play a vital role in determining the winner of the race, as the distance to cover is quite long. This will certainly work in favour of Sea Fever, who can be dominant in such conditions.
The three-year-old colt has entered four races until now, winning one of them. His strike rate is not good, but he has improved a lot since making his debut in the sport. He failed to deliver a solid run in his first three appearances, but turned things
around afterwards.
Importantly, the Luca Cumani’s trainee brought up his maiden victory in his most recent outing. He was rated as favourite back then and lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end.
Sea Fever will be ridden by Kirsty Milczarek, who is a seasoned jockey. He has won quite a few races at this level, but does not have an impressive strike rate. However, he will be looking forward to a solid run at Haydock today.
The bookies also expect Brockwell to make a solid impression in the race, as he seems to be in decent shape at the moment. He has never managed to win in his career until now, but delivered a solid run in his most recent outing.
The three-year-old gelding finished runner up last time around and a similar run would put him in contention of a victory.
