Question:

Sea Travel to Puerto Rico?

Some time ago I heard that one can travel by cruise ship (instead of going by air) to Puerto Rico without having to pay for a full cruise package, but I can't find any information about it. Has anyone else heard about this?

  1. I have never heard of that. You can take a repositioning cruise if you only want to go one way or if you want to stay longer than the other cruises stop for. But as far as I now you have to pay full price.

  2. I just took a cruise on Carnival and noticed some people get off at one of our port so it may be possible but I have not been able to find anything.  The only thing that I have seen are ferries but none from the US.  They travel from St. Croix or the Dominican Republic and I'm sure from the surrounding islands.  So if you go to one of those other countries and want to save on airfare this is your way to go, anything else I think you're out of luck.
