  1. They are comptable but rarely live long in captivity.Starvation being the main cause.Go for a larger Indo Pacific species rather than a dwarf Caribean if your going to they tend to be hardier and will take brineshrimp if not subjected to excessive compition.

  2. sea horses are extremely hard to take care of. the are poor swimmers and can hurt themselves if the current is too strong. Other fish also like to pick on them as they are weak targets. they also need a type of plant or algea they can anchor themselves too. i reccomend not getting a sea horse, but if you must have one. google it further.

  3. Yes you can, just remember that sea horses can be difficult to get to eat sometimes, or can stop eating if there is to much activity around them, as I told you before.  Just do extensive research on the horses that you get.   Set up your tank and have the clowns for a while if your tank has not been mature for at least the last  6 months, then add the horses and star, you should be just fine.

  4. If you bought a sea horse it would be animal cruelty, since obviously you don't even care enough to give them proper living conditions.

They cannot live with clown fish, or any fish at all and should be kept in a same species tank. This is because the competition for food would be much greater, and because they are not very good swimmers, needing a powerful, but gentle filter.

Your clown fish will torcher them.

So no. You can't have one.

  5. sorry but they can not live with clownfish or they will get severely hurt/starve from competing for food http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles...
