SEA LOOKS SET TO BREAK BOOKIES HEARTS:
The Roger Charlton trained Sea Of Heartbreak looks to be an improving three-year-old, judged on her two starts this season. Having won a classified stakes at Salisbury on her first start this season, she returned to that track last time out and was very impressive when tackling handicap company for the first time. Having travelled well throughout, she quickened really well in the closing stages, to beat Scorn by just over two lengths. She can complete her hat-trick here by taking Newbury’s Tadley Tigers Fillies Handicap at 8.30pm.
Nafura scored twice following the application of cheekpieces in handicaps at Wolverhampton last season. Trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, she has made the frame on both her starts this season, and her effort last time out at Wolverhampton, when third to Sea Lord, was a pretty decent effort. With Frankie Dettori booked to ride, she cannot be discounted.
Namaskar is a one-time Oaks entry who clearly has plenty of potential. Pulled far too hard on her return to action, when finishing runner-up to Contradanse at Salisbury. The winner that day has since gone on to win the Italian Oaks, so that form is clearly pretty useful. Definitely one to consider.
Heavenly Dawn built on the promise of her Doncaster debut when making all the running to score in a maiden at Windsor last month. Certainly open to further improvement, but this is a tough task for her handicap debut and not certain to stay this ten furlongs. Looks sure to win more races in time, but opposed here.
Bebopalula looked very good on her first two starts of the season, winning a maiden at Lingfield, then bolting up in a handicap at Windsor. She has struggled in two starts since, albeit in better company and looks a shade too high in the handicap now.
Akinoshirabe is a Well-bred filly by Shamardal who showed a great deal of potential when winning a Newcastle maiden by just under a length from Scorn, She is lightly raced, having had just the two starts and looks sure to improve again. Clearly unexposed it would be foolish to discount her here.
Tut has improved with each of her three starts this season and was a little unlucky not to win last time out having been hampered, when runner-up to Azlak in a Pontefract handicap. This looks a very tough task though and is likely to find a few too good.
Roxy Flyer finished second to Shimmering Moment in a decent Salisbury maiden on her return, and stepped up on that to land a classified stakes at Goodwood last time. Open to further improvement and should not be discounted now handicapping.
Serafina’s Flight landed a Wolverhampton maiden back in April, but has been well held in two races since. Finished behind Namaskar last time out and no obvious reason why she should reverse that form here.
Woodford Belle showed Promise in three starts in maidens, but well and truly put in her place when a well beaten third behind Venutius on her handicap debut at Haydock recently. Looks sure to win races in time, but unlikely to be here.
Goodluckin Lucy has been well held in two all weather handicaps, since winning a maiden event at Musselburgh back in April. Looks outclassed on what she has achieved so far.
Law Of The Range has a lot to find, judged on her three efforts in maiden company so far. Finished fifth to Miss Mittagong at Nottingham last time, and that is not good enough to put her in with a shout here.
Perfect Vision has had two starts so far this term, but would need to step up considerably on those efforts to be involved here. Finished a well beaten fifth to Diamond Duchess at Sandown last time and is overlooked on that evidence.
