I was just wondering if you could ever get sick on a ferry that is about 15 long in the Washington state waters. Like on Port Townsend or Coupeville. Just wondering!

  1. I doubt it.

  2. Sometimes all you need to do on a short trip is eat something with ginger in it (ginger tea, ginger snaps, etc).  Also, you can stay near the middle of the boat/ferry and keep your eyes on the land/horizon.  Getting well hydrated before you go will help.  And best of all, with only a 1/2 trip, the unpleasantness of motion discomfort will be gone in a very short time.  You probably don't need medications (although you can take a prescription medication if your nurse practitioner writes a prescription for it).  Wrist pressure bands work for some people, partially for others, and not at all for many.  Being well hydrated (drink extra water before you go) will help.

  3. you could if it was rolling side to side, and you were facing the wrong way,you can take travel sick tablets, but the best thing is to face the direction of travel and look out at the sea, this will reduce the sea sick feelings, even go out on the deck for fresh air

  4. Yep, my ex got seasick on a ferry down at Fort Fisher, NC.

  5. Sure, you can get motion sickness anywhere.

  6. I have never been seasick but once we were in Mexico returning to our cruise ship on a ferry on very rough seas. Several people around us got very sick and they were handing out paper bags. We would hit the water and all you could see was water then we would come out of the water and all you could see was blue sky. Very exciting ride except for the people that got sick.

  7. buy a sea band they work

  8. When I went to Washington State for Vacation I went on a ferry to Victoria Canada and it was only 30 minutes as long as you take Dramimine or what ever youll be fine
