  1. Pretty Accurate. And dude Rags To Riches is Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Very accurate, I was surprized! Usually they have to "spin" things but they didn't seem to. The movie was excellent BTW. Chris McCarron did all the race choreography, and Gary Stevens played an excellent George "The Iceman" Woolf.

  3. The basics are accurate in the movie. Some things were changed to make the story more dramatic. For example, in the movie they describe War Admiral as being "almost 18 hands tall." In reality, both War Admiral and Seabiscuit were the same height - 15.2 hands! Also, in the final race in the movie, the Santa Anita Handicap, Seabiscuit is shown coming from dead last to win the race. In reality, he was near the front the whole time.

Other criticisms have included that War Admiral isn't shown as the tremendous race horse that he was in his own right. Also, Samuel Riddle, the Admiral's owner, may not have avoided the match race so much as it wasn't as important for him to prove the Admiral and also Howard's aggressive publicity to get the match race was off putting.

  4. The book has more info and you should read it.I thought the movie did a decent job.with what time they had.

  5. It is pretty accurate. Red's father did not go bankrupt by the Great Depression. He went bankrupt because of a flood that destroyed his business.  Red's father gave him a horse named Forest Dawn. Red Pollard hitched  a tobaggan to his horse and made deliveries for the local grocery store. Those are the only things I can think of that make the movie a little inaccurate

  6. The movie obviously had to omit some major story points from the book (like the full back story of the characters) but was pretty true to the events.  I think the book is a little more bleak than the movie as a result of getting the info that happened before and after the events of the movie, but both movie and book are excellent.

  7. not at all...

go check his race record..he had 3 match races,

and only won 1...and he beat a horse that was

tired...had just won the triple crown...we saw what

can happen when a good horse is rested and one

runs in 3 races in 5 weeks, yes the filly is good, but curlin had ran in 3 top races, while she was in the barn. and George wolf"the ice-man"...he was

called that because he was a very cold hearted rider...yes he was good...but he would run you into

the rail or even hit your horse on top of the head during the stretch run....if you watch the start of the movie..it show to jockeys hitting each other, they called it doing George wolf style. his career

ended on the club house turn at Santa Anita, when he had a diabetic reaction during a race, and fell off the horse and hit his head on the rail, and died

on the track....but they do honor him every-year

at Santa Anita with the George wolf given out to the top jockey in the united states....there is another movie about the horse, that is 100% correct and sold at Hollywood video.
