Seagate Hard drive can't find data. Hi, I have a Seagate external hard drive that has just started

Hi, I have a Seagate external hard drive that has just started to cause trouble. Most times when I start it it seems to have no device drivers at all. Never had that before today - it used to just kick into an Autoplay thing and then i can see it on a window explorer. It has fired up kinda OK a couple of times but even then it can see all the folders and files but cannot access them or thinks they have disappeared. Harddrive is only about 18months old. Do I stand a chance of recovering whats on there? And how? Product code is ST3250824U2-RK. Thanks
