Seamus Cahill leads Dean Childs by two points by taking full advantage of his 13 entries at Hove and Henlow on 29th December
The battle between Seamus Cahill and Dean Childs took a wild turn when Seamus Cahill climbed a notch up to down Dean Childs at seventh place after winning 5 open races on 29th December, at Hove and Henlow.
The marking advantage that Seamus Cahill held against Dean Childs was the number of entries in each meeting. At Hove, Seamus Cahill had eleven entries and at Henlow, he was represented by two more, making it a total of thirteen entries.
Grabbing onto the sixth place in the Trainers’ Championship 2011 has become an automatic invite for Seamus Cahill for the eight-leg competition in March, which will be held between the qualified trainers only.
Seamus Cahill is the Trainers’ Champion for the year 2010 and right now, he is sitting at sixth position with 372 points.
Chris Allsopp is leading the table with 887 points, followed by Mark Wallis, holding on with 857 points, while third in line is Charlie Lister, who has amassed 850 points.
The races at Hove and Henlow have also changed the competing scenario for Kelly Findlay and Nick Savva, who were initially stuck with 383 points each, but the position was being led by Nick Savva due to the category of races that he has been a part of.
This was set straight on 29th December’s night as Kelly Findlay finally gained on the long sought out chance of getting up the ladder.
She is now leading Nick Savva by three additional points, totalling at 386, and taking the fourth seat away from Nick Savva, who has gone down to fifth with the same 383 points.
Down the line, on the seventh position on the table is Dean Childs, with 370 points.
Four out of the eleven entries, which were sent to Hove and Henlow, ended up winning for their trainer, Seamus Cahill.
So all in all, taking the bar for the entries up was a strategy that suited Seamus Cahill in enhancing his position on the standings’ table.
