  1. Naslund is past his prime and old, and i think they got him as a replacement for Jagr, and Voros was more a replacement of avery.  The rangers have really ruined their offense, Jagr was their leading scorer, shanahan, even though hes 39, had 48 points last year, still contributed(not to mention i saw him as the real captain) and avery(as much as i hate him) di help the rags, he added a little spark.  If they say that he was a locker room distraction, Why the h**l did they get Zherdev?

I must say, sather has had a sub-par FA signing season

  2. Obviously, because people hate him as a person, they automatically will say he sucks as a player.

Not mentioning any names, some people know d*ck about hockey.

    Avery deserves every penny.

Naslund is still a very good player.  Being the only scoring on line 2 in Vancouver could be a deciding factor.

  3. Its obvious the RAGS are going a different way...... they chose to not sign Avery and Jagr! WHY? Perhaps cause he wanted tooooo much money to stay and the RAGS werent committing that kind of money for him.

The Rags and Montreal seem to be the frontrunners for SUNDIN at this point. Hold on to your britches as you could possibly land him. He is thick skulled and could handle the NY media as he has dealt with Toronto's for many years.

  4. STOP THE HATING OF AVERY... THE GUY IS A GOOD HOCKEY PLAYER PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Every league has its agitators and @sses.  Look at the NBA and Dennis Rodman.  He was the biggest @ss ever and he helped teams win how many championships???

As for the signing of "washed up" Naslund.  I really don't think he is washed up... he just had NO center to play with.  Also if he is washed up well who better to sign him, THE TEAM THAT ALWAYS SIGNS THE WASHED UP PLAYERS.

Sean Avery ROCKS!!!  I've been a fan of his ever since his Red Wings days.

Oh... and not that I am a Rangers fan, but SERIOUSLY the Rags name is lame and completely immature and stupid.  Why does everyone hate the Rangers so much?... It's not like they win or anything.  And all they do is overpay for washed up hacks :).  You should love them for doing that.  Oh and the Ranges are over the cap right now and don't have enough money for Mats Sundin.  That is because they are paying Drury and Gomez both over $7 million a season.  Also Wade Redden and Lundquist are a cap hit over $6 million and Roszival at $5 million and now Naslund at $4 million.  That is too top heavy of a team.  Also NO WAY Gomez and Drury are worth the money they are getting.  This is why the Rangers continue to fail, and the Red Wings have success.

  5. Naslund is not washed up. He's a class player and will have a great year in New York. 4 Million for Naslund is a STEAL in my opinion.

Vancouver is stupid and never gave him anyone to play with. They are focusing on building that team around the two sisters and Luongo.

I'll admit, letting Avery go was a bad choice.... he's a great hockey player. Every notices his "antics" and forgets how well he actually plays his game.

  6. Avery could be seen as a distraction, and really $4 million for him is at least a million too much. Naslund, well, they obviously see some sort of leadership there that you don't (and I agree with you on him).

  7. Agreed...with the guy above

  8. Dude... I really can't put this any other way.

    Go die.

Naslund is a power player in the NHL.

Avery is the JOKE of the league.

So why don't you take this question, and reword it to say:

avery was a major A**HOLE to the team as well as a ABSOLUTE MORON, so why are they not willing to pay him 4 million but they are for a SWEET FREAKING DEAL WITH marcus naslund???
