Sean Foley thrashes at Bubba Watson over his harsh remarks about Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods’ swing coach, Sean Foley, went ballistic on Tuesday, May 10th, about Bubba Watson’s negative comments regarding Tiger Woods. He recommended Watson to win more tourneys before pointing out fingers at the player who has bagged 71 victories
in his career.
A week earlier, Watson said that Woods was going in the wrong way with his mental strategy and he should focus on his game rather than the scores. The statement started an uproar among Woods’ fans, but the former world number-one remained silent and did
not respond to the harsh comment.
However, two days later, Woods said that he would talk to Watson about the comments and requested the media to not dig into the matter until then.
Foley, also a dear friend of Woods, decided to keep his cool after hearing Wood’s comments and waited for Woods to play his cards. When Woods did not take any action, Foley lost his cool and showed up for an interview to throw up his venom on Watson.
He said, “He has the right to his own opinion but you probably shouldn’t make comments about a guy who has won 69 more times than you and you are virtually the same age. You know what I mean”?
Refusing to accept that he was angry at the comments put forth by Watson, Foley added, “I wouldn’t say angry. I would just say, bud, you won three times the last 10 months; I am really pleased for you. You have worked hard and I think it is a great thing
that you are playing so well. But why do you feel the need that you have to get the attention? What’s the use in making that comment”?
The 36-year-old added that Watson adored attention, which is why he opted for the easiest medium to catch the eyes of the media.
Foley settled the score with the two-time PGA circuit winner regarding the comments he gave about Woods.
This is not the first time that Foley has supported Woods in crucial times.
Earlier, he thrashed Lee Trevino, Brandel Chamblee and Hank Haney for criticising the former world number-one, mercilessly.
