Sean O'Sullivan clinches two-year pro tour ticket: 2012 World Snooker Q School – Snooker News
After Daniel Wells’ successful entry in the next two snooker seasons, England’s Sean O’Sullivan has also made his way into the professional circuit for the next two years. The Englishman performed impressively in the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School
(Q School) Event 2 at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield and clinched the two-year pro tour ticket.
The English cueman was up against compatriot Ryan Causton in the quarter-final clash. He played outstandingly to beat him by an easy score line of 4-1. The youngster is quite happy to be a part of the next two seasons.
Speaking to World Snooker, O’Sullivan said, “It's weird, I'm almost speechless. I knew I had a good chance this week because I've been playing well in practice, and the hard work has paid off. Turning pro is what I have wanted to do since I started playing
snooker when I was nine. My goal now will be to keep my place on the tour and then try to move up.”
O’Sullivan had a superb start in the event when he defeated Christopher Keogan by the score line of 4-1 in the first round of the tournament. The first round victory gave him a lot of confidence to face his second round opponent, Nick Dyson. His match against
Dyson was a piece of cake for him as the Englishman cruised into a whitewash victory by the score line of 4-0 to firm his grip in the event.
O’Sullivan’s third round clash proved to be another easy win for him as he trashed his Bahraini opponent, Mohammed Al Sheikh by 4-1 score line. The English potter was in good shape and seemed confident when he faced his fourth opponent, Michael Wild in the
fourth round.
The fourth round match was a tussling encounter as the Englishman was facing a strong resistance from Wild. Both potters went neck and neck towards the end of the game where the match entered the decider frame. O’Sullivan fired some impressive shots in the
final set and clinched the match by the score line of 4-3 to reach the quarter-final stage of the event.
