why he never played like that for Chelsea is mind boggling

He never got the chance at Chelsea,he played like that every match for us last time he was here,which is why all the fans were gutted when he left and also the reason Chelsea bought him in the first place,bad management I call it not playing him at chelsea.

We are delighted he came back !

Chelsea didn't buy him to give him a fair crack of the whip, but to prevent Arsenal from having him themselves.  I don't think they were ever interested in making him part of the starting XI.  Now that he is back to Manchester City, he is free to play as he did once before.  He is free to maraud, without being in the straight jacket of negative Chelsea tactics, and when he does this, he makes a difference to the game.  Hint of caution though, it is only his first game.  We will find out at the end of the season whether he has been their white knight on a steed.

He never got the same freedom to play at chelsea, i know it`s his first game back but he WILL have a great season, City to lift the carling cup.
