Question:

Search Suggestions? How Do I Get Rid of It?

When I type something into the search field on the Yahoo! search engine, a SEARCH SUGGESTIONS box opens. There's an option to disable it, but not to unistall it. Can it be uninstalled and, if so, how? I really hate it.

  1. Just to clarify, I have the same problem.  It is not the normal saved list of searches.  This is some type of plugin that is called "search suggestions."  It pops down, and it has a disable feature that works until you close then open the browser again.  She along with I want it gone completely.  This is not something you fix by going to internet options and clearing the search history or stopping the "auto complete" like others have answered in other posts.  This really looks like a plugin, and it is an actual search suggestion thing.

  2. They changed it. Now just click disable.

  3. Open inet options in the control panel and enter content. Click auto complete and disable web addresses to stop them. Uncheck it.

  4. No kidding!  Do they know how irritating this is?  I'm ready to switch to google if I can't get rid of this thing. And, don't tell me to hit "disable" because it comes back everytime you re-open the browser.  Whoever thought of this brainchild should be fired.
