Search help. I registered with my state and ISRR. Now what?

I have my non-identifying info which isn't very helpful. I registered with my state and ISRR. Now what do I do? I want to search but I have no idea where to begin.

With only my non-ID information, I used the organization below.  I don't know if he does other than California (which is where he was located at the time of my search 6 years ago.)  He was able to get me the info I needed within 2 hours.  He only charged me $100.

It's worth a checking.

I would get involved with Unsealed Initiative NY's leading activist group fighting for open records for adotpees in your birth state.

I would also get involved with some other adotpees from NY on www.adultadoptees.org they can give you the ropes to searching in that state!

Could you edit your question to say whether or not you were born in one of the boroughs of New York City or elsewhere in the State - that will make a difference too
