Slaveholders of my family were, Jabez, Thomas, Zoraida, Benjamin Rosser and others. I have been in contact with one of their descendants with slave info. Still looking for more.

  1. Have you checked the Freedman Bank Records?  If not, there is only one ROSSER and it is a Ben ROSSER who seems to be married to a Charlotte TRAVER.  There is a grandson named Ben, as well.  I notice 2 unique first names that may be meaningful to you, if this is your family.  Minia and Bird. Ben and Charlotte were married in 1826.

The other surnames that seem to be associated with him are: TRAVER, SEABORN and SIMMON.  The application was made 15 April 1872 at a bank in Atlanta, GA.  No birth info. is given. So, I don't know if this family was originally in Lynchburg, VA.

If you don't have access to this information, feel free to email me and I will type up the names and send them on to you.

I hope you find this helpful.
