Searching for deceased relatives burial site?

have just found out a relative is deceased and would like to know where he was buried and if there was an obituary... all I know is the town Effort , Pennsylvania and have no other living relatives to contact and I am from Canada

  1. you could try posting his name and approx date of death.. and see if someone here can pull out the information.

    Also.. looking at a map, your town is an extremely small town and is not likely to have a funeral home.  It is located in Monroe county.  You might determine the county seat, and find the funeral home(s) there, and make a few phone calls.  Explain what you are looking to find.. if they did not handle the burial, they may be able to suggest who else in town may have the info.

  3. Get in touch with the county and find burial sites.  The state will have a death record.  Try local newspapers for obits.
