Searching for natural mother?

I am searching for my natural mother who went under the name of Prudence Evans at the time of my birth.I would just like to make it clear that I am not asking for and sites that I can go to but am asking if anyone knows anything of her or her family.The details that I have been told are the above and that she was from the southern region of Tasmania and was 17 at the time of my birth which was in Launceston Tasmania on the 10th June 1963

Have you received a copy of your original birth certificate from DOCS in Tassie??

Once you have this - you are allowed to apply - through Births, Deaths and Marriages - for a search of any marriage or death certificates (which I hope you won't find)  from your mother.

This is the easiest way to find out if your mother now has a new surname and makes searching far easier.

If you do find a marriage cert - you can go to the electoral commission and search the computer data-base to see where she is currently living.

Check with the department found at the link above - they should also be able to help you with searching ideas.

Look on Ancestry.com.  You have a lot of information you can use for searches on this site.
