Sears 12 hp outboard motor manufactured by ELGIN?

I bought a SEARS 12 hp outboard motor that needs to have the lower unit repaired looking for someone to do repairs or provide info on how i can do this myself

This is a very old motor.  If the gears are ok, chances are that the bearings and seals are available at a local "bearing house", check with a mechanic and ask who he uses.  this uses 90 w gear oil.  It' has a water pump and most Evenrude dealers will have it.
