This summer’s transfer window has been the most unreal in recent years. Players have moved from one club to another in astonishingly expensive and sometimes overpriced deals. The whole summer transfer window has been full of frenzy, and not just in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749,
but across Europe.
Manchester City and Chelsea are well known to splash the cash whenever they see fit on players that often find themselves on the bench for these clubs. Both teams are notorious for wasting talents, but are still never afraid to take the cheque book out as
they see fit.  Manchester City have a net spending of £382.2 million over the past five years, while Chelsea come in second place with £190.7 million.
Both clubs have millions of oil money to back them up, courtesy of owners Roman Abramovich and City’s Sheikh Mansour. This season, both clubs were joined by French club Paris Saint-Germain, who have no emerged as serious contenders for one of Europe’s richest
and biggest clubs. The club was purchased by the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Investments Authority, and their fortunes took a turn for the better as they started making their mark in the transfer market.
This season alone, the club has spent more than £100 million on players such as AC Milan’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431. This news
was received with surprise because €45 million for a 19-year old player is a very astonishing amount. The player had snubbed Manchester United as he opted for the newly rich French club.
Coming back to the English Premier League, this season saw Chelsea making headway in the transfer market early on by singing the highly rated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 from former French champions Lille for a fee of £32 million. This was the first of many new faces that
were to arrive at Stamford Bridge. The club had already completed the signing of German playmaker/winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573
for £23 million. The club’s most low profile signing has been Thorgan Hazard from Lens for £800,000. This brings the club’s total spending to an astounding £65 million.
With a midfield that already has high quality players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramires-c30523, Juan Mata and Jon Obi Mikel; it is difficult to see how the club will fit in all these new players. Chelsea at the moment have arguably the best midfield
on paper. But their pre-season exploits say otherwise. The club recently lost against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294
Di Matteo to manage and rotate all the players and keep everyone happy.
Many (especially Chelsea fans) will say that they had a very successful season as they won the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League. True, trophies indicate success and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have won a large number of trophies ever since Roman Abramovich arrived. And
while last season, the club managed to win two trophies, they had been very poor in the league.
