Lemmings are really cute, very social little creatures that live in communities. For years they interact in playful and peaceful ways, until over population becomes a problem. Then, as they get more and more crowded, they become edgy, and angry and they begin to fight with each other. Finally, they go mad and race for the cliff. In a great herd, they follow the leader over the cliff and fall to their deaths in the crashing sea far below. One or two remain behind. They begin to multiply, and the whole cycle repeats itself. Predictably, every 10 years or so.
Are humans really like lemmings?
If so, what cycle are we in?
What examples can you give?
