Question:

Season rail ticket from Clapham Juction to Hook?

Can anyone tell me why buying a weekly Season Ticket from Clapham Junction to Hook costs more than buy 5 individual return tickets? A weekly ticket costs £69.30 and each individual return ticket costs £13 pounds. I only work 5 days a week so buying the weekly ticket seem to be a price increase instead of a saving. Am I missing something? Even buying a monthly ticket makes no saving? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. The logic does seem a little daft, I must admit. I think the reason is that as you are travelling 'against the flow'  i.e. out of London in the morning and into London in the evening, you can take advantage of cheap day return fares. Don't argue, just buy the ticket daily!

  2. Never thought that it would happen, with the girl from Clapham.

I guess I'm up the junction

  3. David  has quoted the prices for the zones only and they do not include travel from Hook.

The first person is right, the price is determined by the cost of tickets from Hook to London which are more expensive than London to Hook.
