Seating request on flight?

Question

When do you get alocated your seats on a plane? is it when you first check in?..or at the desk in departures?...i have a party of nine flighing out soon and we all want to be sat together.

Check online, some airlines will allow you to chose seats online. Go to the airline website, and look for something about seat assignment.

If they don't have that, call the airline.

This way you are garanteed the seats you want.

when you check in but u must ask at the check in desk to be sat together when u have such a large party and make sure ur 1 of the first groups 2 check in to make sure ur seats will all be togeteger and not 2 or 3 scattered at both ends of the plane

First check to see if you can select seats online - some airlines have that feature on their website.  You will need the confirmation code for the reservation(s).

If not, call the airline and talk to a human to ask for seats.

DON'T wait until you check-in to request seats.

You can also check www.seatguru.com if you are not sure what seats are best.  You will need the aircraft type to use the site (available from the airline).

you should try going online and sitting all together, otherwise all go to desk at the same time.

They can do it from day you book the ticket  - Suggest you ring the airline - particularly if you have any young old, pregnant folk in your group.  They may say they can do nothing at this point but ask them to "put a note on the screen "

Also if one of your party airline loyaly points - get them to ring.  Otherwise ring 24 hours before flight
