There are a lot of opportunities for careers in the computer/tech field.  It is just going to depend on your experience and education levels.  Seattle's economy is still pretty strong, amidst a lot of talk of hurting economies and jobs are not impossible to find.  There are jobs, but many will require certain specific job training, skills, or education levels.  

I don't think that Seattle has a "really bad" homeless problem, although it is bad enough at any level and is still something we should press harder to solve.  Just an off-note...
