So basically i ran the Wenatchee 1/2 marathon in Washington State and it wasn't too "hilly" and my time was fairly well...

Although on June 29th im running the SeaFair marathon in Seattle WA and Ive heard it's extremely "hilly" Will it affect my time and it will be more difficult?

:) Has anyone ever ran this specific marathon and could possibly give me some advice?

  1. Don't know any of these courses you've done I live in the south.  One thing I can tell you is that you run the Wenatchee in Feb. when weather is cool/cold and your doing this one in the summer, which means much more heat and twice the distance.  I think you'll find it may be much harder just b/c of the temp. change from when you did the half in Feb.  Train some in the heat and make sure to stay hydrated!!  Good Luck

  2. The Seafair Marathon is moderately hilly.  For the full marathon maybe add 2 minutes to a time from a completely flat course.  Having run Boston, I'd say that Seafair is of similar difficulty. If you are from Washington State, you are probably used to training and racing on rolling courses.  I am sure you will do fine.

Note, the Seafair marathon course was changed this year for the second time. Depending on who you've spoken to, they may have run different courses. I ran the first two variations.  The course has gotten progressively easier from runner feedback.

The Seafair has both 1/2 and full.  Temperature is usually pleasant in Seattle at this time of year.
