Seattle Mariners’ Milton Bradley released of charges from recent arrest – MLB News
Seattle Mariners’ Milton Bradley was recently arrested in Encino, California for threatening a woman at a traffic signal. However, he has managed to prove that the woman he threatened was his wife and the court has decided to drop any charges against him.
After a detailed investigation into the matter by the city attorney’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department, a decision was made not to file any charges against him.
It seems that this recent episode with the law has not affected his relationship with the Mariners as they are planning to have Bradley in their squad during the upcoming Spring Training.
"The legal issues are the legal issues. That's something that takes care of itself," Mariners’ general manager Jack Zduriencik said. "What we're thinking about is, he's coming in, he's part of this organization, he's going to compete for a job and let the
pieces fall where they may."
As Spring Training is due to start soon, the Mariners will be hoping that Milton can put this whole episode behind him and focus on the field. Last year, Milton managed to play 73 games with a .205 average, eight home-runs and 29 RBIs. However, his season
was cut short as he suffered a knee injury and had arthroscopic surgery. It looks like Milton’s true potential has not been realised and the Mariners are hoping his talents will shine.
“Bradley is reportedly in good condition now and the team is eager to see what kind of shape he is in when camp opens,” Zduriencik said.
The Mariners are desperate for a successful regular season with the hope of a spot in the playoffs. However the team has struggled to find the perfect balance in their team that is capable of competing with some of the top tier teams in the League. With
all of the legal issues of Milton put aside, the team will be hoping for a good performance from him during Spring Training. The Mariners understand the importance of having a decent show during the spring session to build some much needed confidence in the
team for the regular season.
