Seattle Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik talks about adjusting roster – MLB Update
The Seattle Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik seems ready to take the challenge to bring another game plan to enter into a fresh Major League Baseball season. Usually the Mariners play defensively but their GM now wants to play 2013 Major League Baseball
season with an offensive approach.
Earlier when speculations mounted that Mariners will bring Josh Hamilton, Nick Swisher or Cody Ross, the media started to talk about Mariners up-lift new potential moves but as soon as these all free agents sign with other Major League teams, Seattle side
felt bit of ease and started to focus on their next moves.
On the other end, the Mariners GM was quite optimistic that he will certainly bring some more vital players in the coming days. He was optimistic that the Mariners will start playing more open and will continue until getting into the playoffs.
“We'll continue to see what else is out there just to make the club better, If there's something that makes sense, we're wide open to it. We're confident there'll be enough at-bats to go around to make it work for everyone, At the end, if you add a piece
that makes your club better, then that's just better," Zduriencik said earlier this week.
Mariners manager Eric Wedge also said, “We really felt the last five weeks or so, it was real, He really made some positive changes with his hands, with his approach, and with his swing that allowed him to drive the ball from both sides of the plate.”
Though the Mariners manager and GM both are showing great optimism ahead of next Major League Baseball season, but still many say that the Seattle side need to play more offensive to achieve desired goals.
Currently with Dustin Ackley, Robert Andino and Jason Bay, the Mariners have some great fire power. Ackley, in the last Major League event achieved .226 hitting average along with 12 home runs, 50 RBIs and .294 OBP.
Robert Andino has also played well when he achieved consistent numbers in the last Major League outing as he went .211 at hitting average along with seven homers, 28 RBIs and .283 OBP.
