Seattle Mariners hit Los Angeles Angels hard with 12-0 thrashing – MLB Recap
Seattle Mariners hit Los Angeles Angels hard with 12-0 thrashing in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, October 3 at Safeco Field in Seattle.
"I feel good about it. I do. You're never satisfied but I'm proud of the way these kids have played, July and August were good months for us and very consistent months for us but I'm more proud of how they fought through September and all those teams we played in a playoff atmosphere every night for three weeks straight," Seattle manager Eric Wedge said later in the game and informed the reporters about his team’s overall performance which outclassed the Angels.
Right fielder Casper Wells played well and proved one of the winning factors for the Mariners. He scored two runs and smashed two hits along with five RBIs on his three at-bats. He showed his class with great energy and maintained his slugging percentage at .396.
Third baseman Kyle Seager also did well on the plate as he scored two runs and smashed two hits on his five at-bats. He kept the Angels’ under pressure and maintained his slugging percentage at .423.
Catcher Jesus Montero scored two runs and smashed two hits along with three RBIs. His performance certainly stood tall against the Angels’ pitchers as he maintained a persistent slugging percentage of .386 on his four at-bats.
Along with batters, the Mariners' pitchers also played well and earned great victory for their team. From their starters to relievers, everyone contributed in their victory. They all pitched in right areas and rattled the Angels’ with big force.
"Ever since I've been back I've tried to work as hard as I can and harder than I did the first time, It's easy to get a little relaxed when you have success up here," Beavan said.
Starter Blake Beavan pitched eight innings and received seven hits without any runs. Though he could not strike-out any but still his overall 4.43 ERA held the Angels’ batters with great force and proved one of the winning factors for the Mariners.
