Seattle Mariners rally past Texas Rangers 5-3 – MLB Recap
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 5-3 in the final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, May 23 at Safeco Field, Seattle in 2012 Major League Baseball season and won the series 2-1.
Kevin Millwood played well for the Mariners and pitched six scoreless innings receiving only three hits. Striking out two Rangers’ batters, he showed the enormous amount of speed and helped the Mariners win the game as well series.
"The biggest thing was just confidence has been building for the last couple of weeks so I felt like when I got out there it just felt like I was going to have a good game and throw the ball well. When I missed guys made good plays or they just fouled it
off.” Millwood said on his great outing.
Left fielder Alex Liddi also played a balanced game and made one runs and four RBIs for the Mariners win. Later in the game, the Mariners manager appreciated his game with great words.
"He's a guy that's capable of doing some damage up there. He works as hard as anybody we have. That's the reason he's able to maintain the way he does when he doesn't play, He's still a young hitter, but he's learned how to hit." Seattle manager Eric Wedge
said for his experienced left fielder.
The Texas Rangers, from start of the game, played under pressure and never looked confident during the entire play. Initially before start of the game, they were relying upon their experienced pitchers, but as soon as the game was started, starter Scott
Feldman gave the early advantage to the Mariners with his poor throws. He went with five runs and three hits in his 4.1 innings on the mound.
In the meanwhile, Feldman’s early poor play eventually proved helpful for their opponents as they outplayed them in the last inning.
Despite this win, the Mariners are still behind from the Rangers at third position in the American League West Division.
However, this certainly will improve the winning consistency of Mariners in the coming days against some tough rivals.
