Seattle Mariners trade outfielder Trayvon Robinson – MLB Update
Seattle Mariners has taken a bold step to trade Trayvon Robinson after row of speculations as they will be brining a potential pitcher in the roster.
Mariners traded Robinson to Baltimore Orioles while infielder Robert Andino will be joining them for next Major League Baseball season.
Both players have different strengths. Robinson, an original draftee from the Los Angeles Dodgers' franchise, has played most of his career in the Minor League.
Andino, however, played most of his career in the Majors and knows tricks of the trade well. Both are good fielders and will now start their new beginning with different teams in the league.
“The addition of Robert Andino gives us some experienced infield depth with a player who has played multiple positions, With Robert having major league and playoff experience, and still relatively young, we thought that it made sense to make this trade and let him come in and compete,” Mariners' GM Jack Zduriencik said in the team’s announcement
Later executive vice president Dan Duquette said, “I’m confident we have options, Flaherty hit nine home runs in 200 at-bats this year (actually seven in 164, including the postseason). And Casilla has more range than any other second baseman in the American League according to the numbers. And Casilla has the capability of stealing a base,”
Andino is seven-year Major League Baseball veteran and knows when to show his hidden skills. He is a good player and plays with a good hitting average. He finished last season with the Baltimore Orioles and achieved great numbers.
Robert finished with .211 hitting average along with seven homers, 28 RBIs and .283 OBP.
On the other hand, his career hitting average of .235 along with 18 homers, 92 RBIs and .296 OBP also makes him a good player in the league.
Robinson, who now will be playing for the Orioles as he possesses a good hitting average. He finished this past season with Seattle Mariners hitting average at .221 along with three homers, 12 RBIs and .294 OBP.
His career hitting .215 averages along with five homers, 26 RBIs and .272 OBP also suggests that he will prove a productive player in the Mariners’ roster.
