Seattle Seahawks CBs Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner to play against Chicago Bears – NFL News
Seattle Seahawks cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner will play next game against Chicago Bears.
Sherman and Browner have violated the National Football League’s (NFL) policy of performance enhancing drugs and they were tested positive for taking Adderall.
Their case has not been heard by the NFL yet and hearing is expected in next week, so Sherman and Browner have not been suspended or charged with any fine for this violation, and they are allowed to play until their case is heard and settled.
According to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, next game against Bears is the most important and presence of the cornerbacks is important for them.
This game is a must-win for Seahawks as they are tied with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings for final wildcard spot in National Football Conference (NFC).
Talking about suspensions, Carroll said:
"Because it's so important we do this properly, I'm not going to comment on anything about it. That's the best way to do this because these are league issues. At this point, I'm going to keep it there and hope you can respect that this is the way we have
to do that, and we can talk about it later on."
According to Browner, he mistakenly took Adderall, when he drank from his friend’s bottle that had crushed pills in it.
Browner's agent Peter s******r said of him:
"Brandon Browner has no knowledge of how any illegal substance could have gotten into his system. He is very careful with what he puts into it. We're exploring all avenues to try and figure out how any substance out of the ordinary would be in his system."
Seahawks offensive lineman Allen Barbre and rookie safety Winston Guy were suspended this season and Guard John Moffitt was suspended last season for violating this policy.
Recently, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright also got a four-game suspension for taking Adderall. He is expected to get fine for this violation. On the other hand, Seahawks are fortunate that they are not losing their experienced players for their
next big game.
At 6-5, Seahawks stand 2nd in NFC West.
