Seattle Seahawks’ Michael Robinson starts preparation for next season – NFL News
Seattle Seahawks’ running back, Michael Robinson, did not get plenty of time on the field during the last National Football League (NFL) season, but he gave his best shot whenever he got an opportunity.
However, Seahawks were not able to qualify for the playoffs last year and that’s what bothers Robinson. He wants to take the team to the championship game and to achieve that goal he has already started preparations for the next season.
According to the details present on the team’s official website, Robinson admitted that he was putting on some weight and that’s why he started working out early so as to be in proper shape as soon as possible.
He said:
“I usually would take about a month off after the season, completely. This year, I took two weeks off. I adjusted my diet a little bit to make sure I was getting the calories in me every day so I can prepare to do the workouts. Now I’m to the point where
I’m doing two workouts a day. Already.”
Robinson started his professional NFL career with San Francisco 49ers in 2006. He played four seasons for the 49ers, but could not earn the starting role.
He joined the Seahawks in 2010 and the team gave him the starting role in four games. Overall, he played 11 games in that season.
Last year, he played 14 games and started four of them. He also made it to the last year’s Pro Bowl after Green Bay Packers’ running back, John Kuhn, was injured.
When asked about how he felt to be representing the National Football Conference (NFC) East squad in the Pro Bowl, Robinson admitted that he was pleased to make it to the prestigious event.
However, he asserted at the same time that personal glory is nothing in front of the team’s success. He said that his main goal is to win the championship for the Seahawks.
He said:
“Obviously, accomplishments feel good. But at the same time, the goal is to win a championship. That’s the goal every year. So whether we rush for 1,400, 1,500 yards, or whether we rush for 500 yards, the goal is still to win a championship.”
