Seattle Seahawks crush St. Louis Rams 24-7 at Edward Jones Dome in Week11 – NFL News
After giving away an early first-quarter lead, St. Louis Rams faced a crushing defeat 24-7 at the hands of Seattle Seahawks at the Edward Jones Dome in the week 11 game of the current season on Sunday.
Rams are having a miserable season. They started off the season with six straight defeats and had two wins and two losses in their last four games. They are placed at the bottom of the National Football Conference West division.
Their last victory against Cleveland Browns 13-12 in the week 10 game gave them confidence entering into the game against Seahawks. Rams started the game well and dominated the first quarter. Quarterback Sam Bradford threw a 30-yard
pass to wide receiver Brandon Lloyd who scored a touchdown to get the lead 7-0.
The lead, however, was lost soon and was never recovered. Seahawks outclassed Rams that proved to be relatively easier opponents during the last three quarters of the match.
In the second quarter, Seahawks’ quarterback Tarvaris Jackson threw a 14-yard pass to wide receiver Sidney Rice who scored an equaliser for his team. A 19-yard field goal by Steven Hauschka right at the end of second quarter gave
Seahawks the halftime lead 10-7.
The third quarter saw running back Marshawn Lynch making a three-yard to score a touchdown increasing the lead to 17-7.
Justin Forsett scored a 22-yard touchdown in the final quarter to seal the victory 24-7 for Seahawks.
Rams came nowhere near Seahawks after giving away the early lead. Quarterback Sam Bradford who is not having an ideal season was frustrated with his performance and was disappointed over the loss. However, he said that he would
not quit and keep the spirits up to improve his performance in the next games.
"I'm beyond frustrated right now," Bradford said. "I've never been a part of a team that's been in this situation. I don't like it. I'm not going to quit.
"One of the keys we talked about all week is if we were going to be successful, we were going to have to have positive plays on first and second down. I feel like our production on early downs just put us in bad situations all
day," he added.
Seahawks now have four victories this season. They have lost six games and are placed second in the NFC West division. Wide receiver Sidney Rice was pleased with the victory and said that the team got what it wanted. He further
said that the team has still got a long way to go.
